Draft, not yet finalised. This page sets out the terms we intend to run PrizePals under. It has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor and should not be treated as final or legally binding until that review is complete.
Last updated 21 October 2026.
1. Who We Are
PrizePals (prizepalcompetitions.co.uk) is run by Prize Pals Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17419957. Our registered office is 6 Whitesands Grove, Stoke on Trent, ST3 7HT, and you can email us at prizepalcompetitions@gmail.com.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Prize Pals Ltd, and “you” means the person using the site or entering a competition.
PrizePals runs skill based prize competitions. To enter, you must answer a skill question correctly. Every competition can also be entered for free by post, so you never have to pay to enter or to win.
2. About These Terms
These terms apply whenever you create a PrizePals account, enter a competition (paid, by post or in a free giveaway), win a prize, or use site credit. By creating an account or entering, you agree to them.
Each competition page sets out the details for that competition, including:
- the ticket price, the total number of tickets and the maximum number of tickets per person
- the opening date, the time entries close, and the draw date and time
- how the draw will be run
- the prize, and any cash alternative
- any instant win prizes, their winning ticket numbers, and whether each one is cash, site credit or goods
These details form part of these terms for that competition. If something on a competition page conflicts with these terms, the competition page applies to that competition. A competition page will never reduce your rights under the law.
Please also read our Free Postal Entry, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Responsible Entry and Complaints Procedure pages. We suggest you save or print a copy of these terms.
3. Who Can Enter
You can enter if you are 18 or over and live in the United Kingdom. We check your date of birth when you register.
Directors and employees of Prize Pals Ltd, and anyone living in the same household as them, cannot enter our competitions.
We may ask for proof of your age, identity and address at any time, and we will always ask before a prize is paid or sent. If you are asked for proof and do not provide it within the claim period in section 9, you may be disqualified.
Entries made by someone who is not eligible are void and cannot win. If we find that an account holder is under 18, we will close the account and refund any payments to the card used.
4. Your Account
You need a PrizePals account to enter. This applies to paid entries, free postal entries and free giveaways. We do not offer guest checkout.
- You may hold one account only. It must be in your own name, with your correct date of birth, address, email address and phone number.
- Please keep your details up to date. We use the details on your account to contact you and to check a win.
- Pay only with a card in your own name.
- Keep your password private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. We are not responsible for entries made by someone using your login details where you shared them or did not keep them safe.
You can ask us to close your account at any time through our Contact Us page. Tickets you already hold stay in their draws, and any prize you win from them is still yours. As our Privacy Policy explains, we delete the account once those tickets have been drawn. Any site credit left in an account is lost when the account is closed. Before we close an account at your request, we will tell you how much credit it holds so you can use it first.
5. How To Enter
Paid entry
Choose a competition, answer the skill question, choose how many tickets you want, and pay at checkout. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, DNA Payments, and we never see or store your full card details. Your entry is complete when your payment has been authorised and your order is confirmed. Your ticket numbers are shown on the order confirmation, sent to you by email, and listed under My Tickets in your account.
The skill question
Every competition has a multiple choice question with one correct answer. Only correct answers are accepted. A ticket cannot be added to your basket with a wrong answer.
Free postal entry
You can enter any competition for free by post, including competitions with instant wins. To do this:
- Handwrite your entry on an unenclosed postcard (not in an envelope) and send it by first or second class post to: PrizePals Free Entry, Prize Pals Ltd, 6 Whitesands Grove, Stoke on Trent, ST3 7HT.
- Include your full name, home address and date of birth, the email address and phone number on your PrizePals account, the name of the competition, your answer to its skill question, and the words “I accept the PrizePals Terms and Conditions”.
- Your details must match your PrizePals account.
- Each postcard is one entry. You can send as many free entries as that competition’s maximum tickets per person, and paid and free entries count together towards that maximum.
- Several entries on one postcard, or several postcards in one envelope, count as one entry.
- We do not accept hand delivered entries. Proof of posting is not proof that we received your entry.
- Entries that are incomplete, hard to read, have a wrong answer or do not match a PrizePals account cannot be accepted.
- We add each valid entry to your account within 2 working days of receiving it, and email you your ticket number.
Postal entries must arrive before entries close. A postcard that arrives after entries have closed, or after every ticket has sold, cannot be entered into that competition and is not carried over to another one.
The full postal rules are also on our Free Postal Entry page and on the Free Postal Entry tab of each competition page.
Equal chance
Every valid ticket has the same chance of winning, whether it was paid for, entered by post or paid for with site credit. This includes the chance of winning an instant prize, except where a competition’s instant wins are not live yet, as set out in section 8.
We do not accept entries made by bots, scripts or other automated means, bulk entries, or entries made on behalf of someone else.
6. Tickets, Limits and Closing Times
Each competition has a fixed number of tickets and a maximum number of tickets per person, both shown on the competition page. The maximum per person covers paid, postal and any free entries together.
Ticket numbers are given out at random from the numbers not yet taken in that competition. This applies to paid and postal entries alike.
Entries close at the time shown on the competition page. Unless the page says otherwise, entries close 15 minutes before the draw time, so that the last payments have time to clear. Paid and postal entries both stop at that time. If every ticket sells before then, entries close as soon as the last ticket is sold.
Every competition runs for at least 7 days and no more than 60 days from the day it opens.
We never extend a competition to sell more tickets, and there is no minimum number of entries. The draw goes ahead whether or not every ticket has sold, and the winner is chosen from the tickets actually in the competition.
We will only change a competition’s opening time, closing time or draw time if something outside our reasonable control stops it running as planned, such as a failure of our website or our payment provider. If we do, we will show the new time on the competition page and email everyone who has entered. If we move a draw by more than 7 days, you can ask for a refund of your paid tickets before the new draw time.
7. The Main Draw
Every main draw winner is chosen by a random number generator (RNG). The RNG picks one ticket number from the valid tickets in that competition. These are the tickets on completed orders and accepted postal entries. The person holding that ticket is the winner.
The draw takes place at the draw date and time shown on the competition page. It is run live on our Live Draw tool. Where a competition page says the draw will run automatically, the same RNG runs the draw at the time stated, and the result is recorded in the same way. Where a competition page says it will be drawn as soon as it sells out, the draw takes place when the last ticket is sold.
When entries close, we publish the full entry list on the competition page. It shows every ticket number with the first name and surname initial of the person holding it. The list is fixed at that moment and given a digital fingerprint, so anyone can check it has not changed before the draw.
The Live Draw tool records the winning ticket number, the date and time, and the method used.
Where a competition has more than one main prize, a separate winning ticket is drawn for each prize, in the order the prizes are listed on the competition page. A ticket can only win one main prize.
If a technical fault or human error interrupts a draw, or produces a result that did not come from the RNG choosing among the valid tickets, that result is void. We will run the draw again as soon as we reasonably can, using the same method, and explain what happened on our Winners page.
If a winning ticket turns out to be void (for example because its order was cancelled or reversed, or the entrant was not eligible), we will draw again using the same method.
The winner is announced on our Winners page within 24 hours of the draw. We contact the winner by email, and by phone where a number was given, within 2 working days of the draw.
We never choose a winner by hand, in any competition, paid or free.
8. Instant Wins
Some competitions have instant win prizes. Before the competition opens, the RNG draws the winning ticket numbers and the prize on each one. These are published on the competition page, together with whether each prize is cash, site credit or goods. They cannot be changed once the first ticket is sold.
When instant wins go live. In some competitions, instant wins go live only after a number of tickets set by us has been given out. Until then the instant prizes are shown greyed out on the competition page, without their winning ticket numbers, and every ticket given out in that time (paid, postal or site credit) is entered in the main draw only. Once instant wins go live, the prizes are shown in red with their winning ticket numbers, and every ticket given out from then on has the same chance of winning them. If instant wins never go live in a competition, those instant prizes are not awarded.
If a ticket you are given matches a winning number, you win that prize straight away. The result is shown when your order is complete, and it appears in My Wins. Postal entries have the same chance, and any instant win is shown when we add the entry to your account.
Instant prizes are only won when their ticket is given out. If an instant prize’s ticket has not been given out by the time entries close, that prize is not awarded.
Credit prizes are paid straight into your site credit wallet, so there is nothing to claim (see section 11). For cash and goods prizes, you claim through My Wins as set out in section 9. We contact instant cash and goods winners within 2 working days.
The published winning numbers and our system records decide whether a ticket has won. If a technical fault makes the site show a win, or the wrong prize, on a ticket that does not match a published winning number, we will tell you and correct it. If this happens to you, you can choose either a refund of the paid tickets on the affected order or the same amount added to your wallet as site credit. If you hold a ticket that matches a published winning number but the site did not show the win, please contact us and you will still receive that prize.
A competition with instant wins may also have a main draw, which is run as set out in section 7.
9. Winners and Claiming Prizes
We tell winners by email, and by phone where a number was given. Every win also appears under My Wins in your account.
To receive a cash or goods prize, sign in, open My Wins and press Claim Prize within 14 days of our first message. You will need to confirm your details and that you are 18 or over. Before we pay or send any prize, we check your identity and age, and we may ask for documents to do this.
We pay cash prizes only by bank transfer to a UK bank account in the winner’s own name. We will never ask for your bank details by email, and we arrange payment with you securely.
If a main draw prize is not claimed within the claim period, or the winner does not complete our checks within that period, or the winner turns out not to be eligible, we may withdraw the prize. We would then draw a new winner from the remaining valid tickets, using the same method. If an instant win cash or goods prize is not claimed within the claim period, after we have sent at least one reminder, the prize is forfeited. It is not passed to another ticket. We will normally send a reminder before the claim period ends.
You must claim a prize yourself. Someone else cannot claim it for you, and prizes cannot be transferred to another person.
10. Prizes
Prizes are as described on the competition page when you enter.
Where a cash alternative is offered, the competition page shows the amount, and you choose it when you claim.
Cash prizes are paid within 7 days of a successful claim and identity check. Goods prizes are sent to a UK address within 28 days of a successful claim. We pay for delivery to any address in the United Kingdom, including the Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland. Gift cards and vouchers given as prizes are valid for at least 12 months from the date they are issued.
If a goods prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control, we will offer a replacement of equal or greater value, or the prize’s cash value as shown on the competition page, and you can choose between them.
Goods prizes come with the manufacturer’s or supplier’s own warranty.
We pay prizes in full, with nothing deducted. We cannot give tax or benefits advice. If you receive benefits, you may need to tell the relevant authority about a win.
11. Site Credit
Site credit is a balance held in the Wallet section of your account and shown in pounds. You receive credit when you win an instant prize described as credit. We may also add credit as a goodwill gesture, for example to put a problem right.
- Using credit. Credit is applied automatically at checkout. You can untick it to pay by card instead. If your credit covers the whole order, no card payment is needed. If it does not, you pay the rest by card.
- What credit can be used for. Credit can only be spent on PrizePals competition entries. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cash, transferred to another person or sold, and it does not earn interest.
- Spending controls. Entries paid for with credit count towards your spending limits, and credit cannot be used during a break (see section 16).
- Credit returned to you. If an order paid fully or partly with credit is cancelled, fails or is refunded, the credit used on it goes back into your wallet.
- Credit taken back. If the order that won a credit prize is cancelled, refunded or reversed, or the win is void under these terms, we remove that credit from your wallet. We do this even if you have already spent it, which means your balance can go below zero. A balance below zero cannot be used until it is back above zero. We will not ask you to repay a negative balance in cash, unless the credit was obtained by fraud.
- Mistakes. If credit is added to your wallet by mistake, we may correct it, and we will tell you when we do.
- Expiry. Site credit does not expire while your account is open.
- Your history. Every change to your balance is listed in your Wallet, showing when it happened and why.
If we cancel a competition, tickets you paid for with credit are refunded as credit, and the card part of any order is refunded to your card.
12. Free Giveaways
From time to time we may run a free giveaway. The competition page will say clearly that it is a free giveaway, with a £0 entry price.
- You need a PrizePals account to enter. Each person may enter once, unless the giveaway page says otherwise.
- Signing up to our marketing emails is never a condition of entry. You can enter without opting in, and opting in or out makes no difference to your chance of winning.
- A giveaway may include a question, which will be shown on the giveaway page.
- Winners are chosen by the same RNG we use for paid competitions, from all valid entries, as set out in section 7. Any instant win prizes, including credit prizes, are drawn before the giveaway opens and published, as set out in section 8.
- The usual rules on eligibility, accounts, claiming prizes, publicity and fair play apply.
- Entries made using more than one account, or in someone else’s name, are void.
13. Payment
Ticket prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken when you place your order. If a payment fails, no tickets are given out for that order.
14. Cancelled Orders, Refunds and Chargebacks
When you buy tickets, you ask us to enter you straight away, and your ticket numbers are given out as soon as payment is authorised. Because of this, you cannot cancel tickets for a change of mind once they have been given out, except where the law says otherwise.
We will refund paid tickets in full if:
- we cancel the competition (see section 15)
- we accepted an entry after entries closed, or beyond the maximum per person, because of our own error
- there was an error in the price or description of the competition and we cancel the affected orders
- the law requires us to
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and any credit you used goes back into your wallet. We aim to process refunds within 14 days of agreeing them. If you place an order by mistake, for example for the wrong number of tickets, contact us before entries close. We may cancel the order, void its tickets and refund your payment.
When an order is cancelled for any reason allowed by these terms, its tickets are void and removed from the draw. Any instant prizes won on those tickets are also void, and any credit won on them is taken back as set out in section 11. Once a competition has been drawn, we do not refund tickets for it, unless the law requires us to or we cancelled that competition.
Chargebacks. If something has gone wrong with an order, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. If you ask your bank to reverse a payment, we may hold any prize won on that order, and pause your account, while the dispute is open. If the payment is reversed, the tickets on that order are void, any instant prizes won on them are void, and any credit won on them is taken back. If we have already paid a cash prize won on that order, we may ask you to repay it. If someone used your card without your permission, tell us and we will help.
15. Cancelling or Changing a Competition
We will only cancel or change a competition if:
- there is an error in its price, description, prize or ticket numbers
- the prize becomes unavailable and no fair replacement can be offered under section 10
- a technical failure, fraud or other event outside our reasonable control means it cannot run fairly
- we are required to for legal or regulatory reasons
We will never cancel a competition because too few tickets have been sold.
If we cancel a competition, we will tell everyone who entered and refund all paid tickets as set out in section 14. Instant prizes already won before the cancellation are still awarded.
If we make a change that materially affects people who have already entered, such as a change to the prize, we will email them and offer a refund to anyone who no longer wants to take part.
16. Spending Controls and Responsible Play
We want entering our competitions to stay fun and affordable. Under Spending Controls in your account you can:
- Set spending limits. You can set daily, weekly and monthly limits, measured over any 24 hours, any 7 days and any 30 days. Adding or lowering a limit takes effect straight away. Raising or removing a limit takes effect 24 hours later. Limits count everything you spend on entries, including site credit. Free postal entries do not count.
- Take a break. You can choose a break of 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or 6 months. During a break you cannot make paid entries or use credit. A break cannot be ended early, by you or by us. We can extend a break if you ask.
Free postal entries are not accepted while you are on a break. A postcard that arrives during a break is treated like a late entry. We do not send you marketing messages while you are on a break.
You can close your account at any time (see section 4). Free and confidential support is listed on our Responsible Entry page.
17. Fair Play and Account Suspension
To keep every competition fair, you must not:
- hold more than one account, or use someone else’s account or card
- give false details
- use bots, scripts or other automated tools
- abuse the free postal route, for example with bulk entries or entries in someone else’s name
- interfere with the website or our systems
- abuse or threaten our staff
If we reasonably suspect a breach of these terms, we may pause your account while we look into it. We will tell you why, unless the law or a fraud investigation prevents us. Any action we take will be proportionate to the breach. Depending on what we find, we may void the entries affected, withhold any prize won with them (and draw again where section 7 allows), take back credit won with them, or close your account.
Paid tickets voided under this section are refunded to the card used, unless the payment was fraudulent or is being disputed.
If you disagree with a decision we make under this section, you can use our Complaints Procedure.
18. Winners, Entry Lists and Publicity
To show that prizes are really awarded, we publish the winner’s first name and surname initial, the competition, the winning ticket number and the prize on our Winners page and during the live draw. Live draws may be recorded and kept online. Entry lists show ticket numbers with each entrant’s first name and surname initial (see section 7). If you would rather not be named, email us at prizepalcompetitions@gmail.com and we will show you as “PrizePals winner” instead.
Taking part in photos, videos or interviews is optional and is never a condition of receiving a prize.
Even if you ask not to be named, we may still have to give your details and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority or another regulator if they ask.
19. Our Liability To You
If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
If our systems fail to record an entry you paid for, we will either give you the tickets, if that is still possible before entries close, or refund you.
We are not responsible for:
- postal entries that are lost or delayed in the post
- problems caused by your own device or internet connection
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, although we will do what we reasonably can to limit the effect on you
PrizePals is for personal use only. We are not responsible for business losses.
20. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please email us at prizepalcompetitions@gmail.com. We acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and aim to give a full response within 7 working days. The full process is on our Complaints Procedure page. Making a complaint does not affect your legal rights.
21. Your Personal Data
We use your personal data to run competitions, check your age and identity, prevent fraud, pay and deliver prizes, and meet our legal duties. We only send you marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can stop it at any time without affecting your entries. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and what your rights are.
22. Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law or regulator guidance, to cover new features or prize types, or to make them clearer. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.
- A change never applies to tickets you already hold. Those tickets stay under the terms that applied when you got them.
- If we make a significant change, we will email you and show a notice on the site before it takes effect.
- If a change would reduce your rights over credit already in your wallet, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
- If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account. Tickets you already hold stay valid.
23. General
- We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another business that takes over PrizePals. This will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.
- If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Only you and we have rights under these terms.
- These terms are available in English only.
- PrizePals is not run, sponsored or endorsed by Facebook, Instagram, Google, Apple or any other platform.
24. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any protections that your local law gives you.
